How to run it

The structure only works with an owner behind it.

01

Choose one reporting cutoff

A Friday pack is only trustworthy when every source log uses the same cutoff and the reader knows what changed after it.

  • Set the weekly cutoff
  • Name the source logs
  • Record the last-updated time
  • Separate current facts from pending confirmation
02

Lead with decisions

The PM should not have to read every open row to find what needs their authority or escalation.

  • Decisions required
  • Items beyond the agreed response window
  • Potential schedule or procurement impact
  • Unpriced or unapproved change exposure
  • Missing closeout documents
03

Keep ownership visible

Every open item should have a responsible party, next action, and next date. Status without ownership is only a description of delay.

  • Responsible party
  • Current status
  • Days open
  • Next action
  • Next-action date
  • Escalation owner

Take the file. Keep the authority.

No email gate and no follow-up sequence. The structure is yours to adapt; the decisions it supports stay with your team.

Make the handoff visible

A template helps. Ownership makes it work.

Define who updates the artifact, when it is reviewed, what triggers escalation, and who has final authority.
